The Power of a Teacher

While she was in university, Andrea felt an unmistakable call from God: to go to the rural region of her country, Honduras, and teach kids

While she was in university, Andrea felt an unmistakable call from God: to go to the rural region of her country, Honduras, and teach kids. And she listened. So, Andrea spent her days teaching boys and girls Science, Social Studies, and how to read and write in English.

There are no other schools in this mountain area. If it weren’t for this school that you’ve helped support, kids would have to travel pretty far to get an education. And, it can be difficult to find well-trained teachers willing to move to such a remote location.

Andrea treats her job as a teacher like being a missionary. She gets to share God’s love with boys and girls who need to hear that good news. Andrea sees the children she teaches learn English, and learn about God. She can tell that this is going to give them the foundation they need to build a better life. “I’m working every day, trying to give what I know to the kids.”

We are so grateful for the dozens of teachers in our partner schools that have committed their lives to God’s call to build into the next generation. If you feel moved to support teachers like Andrea by providing training, now is the perfect time.

Teachers can unlock potential in a child. Will you help build into teachers so they can keep doing an amazing job of helping the kids they serve? Can you help them to grow and become better teachers? It costs $400 to help a teacher receive training in the most effective ways to help children learn. You can help make sure the teachers who are serving God with their lives have all the tools they need to support the kids they serve.
